Catherine Morton
Catherine Morton is a Vancouver artist
originally from Kapuskasing, Ontario. She graduated from the
Ontario College of Art in 1989. Her time as a student included
one year of independent study in New York. She sold her own art
on the streets of SoHo, and worked for Whole Life Magazine to
support herself.
Catherine moved to Vancouver in 1990, and since then has found a variety of venues for her talent - designing and selling hand-painted greeting cards, a mural for a new housing project, and working as artist-in-residence for the Station St. Theatre, doing various artwork, from poster and ad design, to set painting.
All the clocks shown here are her original designs. The shape of each face is cut from wood. The face is then hand-painted with acrylics and finished with a clear lacquer. The clock is then mounted on a square base with a felted backing and completed with the clock mechanism and a metal hook for hanging.
These unique clocks come in three sizes: 6 1/2" x 6 1/2", 7 1/2" x 7 1/2", and 11 1/2" x 11 1/2".
