Spelling Tips

This section provides tips for spelling English words.

There are no easy routes to perfect spelling in English. However, your spelling skills will improve if you:

1. Write carefully and use a dictionary.
2. Repeat the proper pronunciation of the word in your head.
3. Visualize the syllable divisions:

   ac quaint ed
   dis appoint
   mis spelled
   val u a ble

4. Identify what part of speech the word belongs to:

   principle [noun]
   principal [adjective]
