Artist Profile
Wendy Kemper was born and raised in Ontario and moved to
Vancouver in 2004 after living in New Zealand for 2 years. She studied
occupational therapy at McMaster University. Along with taking various art
workshops in Ontario in the past 10 years, she is working towards a fine
art certificate from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design.
Wendy s artistic influences have come from her
travels through Canada, Europe, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. She
mainly works in acrylics, water colours and oils, to create paintings with
bold brush strokes, bright colours and movement. She is particularly
inspired by the patterns and colours found in nature.
Wendy started a business called Art Ability where she conducted art
groups in hospitals, adapting art for people with disabilities and
facilitating creativity. She believes that everyone has the ability to be
creative and encourages others to find and develop their own artistic
style.
