Alaire's ColdFusion provides an amazing platform for developing web sites using server-side scripting. A few lines of ColdFusion markup language can accomplish database tasks that require many many lines of awkward Java or Active Server Pages scripting.

Ben Forta's book is perhaps the best programming book I've used in recent years, providing both a complete description of ColdFusion, an excellent introduction to SQL in the contect of web site development, and fully functional examples that can be adapted for commercial applications on the Internet.

The companion CD contains all of the source code used in the book plus evaluation copies of ColdFusion Server, ColdFusion Studio, and HomeSite.
